From 1899 through 1915, NoTsuOh was Houston’s biggest celebration, rivaling New Orleans’ Mardi Gras. Kings and queens, lavish parades, galas, a carnival midway and backward spelling were the order of the day. After a gap of 100 years, it was brought back by The Heritage Society, and in fall 2018, we are bringing it back to stay. This year will feature the Coronation Gala on Friday, October 26 and an animal parade on Sunday, October 28. Future years will bring citywide activities in which dozens of organizations and institutions take part, eventually culminating in a grand water parade. The Heritage Society aims to once again make NoTsuOh the signature annual party in Houston, celebrating our history, culture, enterprise and spirit!
