We apologize, this event has been canceled. The speaker is attending a funeral. We are sorry for the unfortunate news and wish the speaker’s friends and family well.

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, the victory of a smaller, poorly equipped Mexican force against the larger and better-armed French army was a morale boost for the Mexicans. Dr. Gene Preuss of UH-Downtown's History Department gives us some insight into the holiday that will make you appreciate the happy hour. Margaritas and Mexican beer will be served. Tickets are only $5.
