The Heritage Society is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to preserving a segment of Houston's past. As an accredited museum, The Heritage Society provides a wide range of educational and cultural programs designed to provoke an awareness of the importance of history. Membership is open to everyone.

As a Heritage Society member, you can support historic preservation and learn about Houston's history. Enjoy informative lectures or serve as tour or museum guide, assist curators with collections and exhibits, and stage the annual Heritage Ball, Candlelight Tour and other special events.

Members are invited to join in historical travel tours both here and abroad. They receive discounted members' pricing for classes and trips and  may take guided tours of Sam Houston Park at no charge. In addition members are entitled to four free Candlelight tickets and a subscription to The Heritage Society's monthly newsletter, Panorama.
