- How long should I plan to spend during a visit to The Heritage
Society?
Plan to stay for about two hours if you tour the historic houses. Guided
tours last about an hour and 15 minutes.
Can I purchase tickets in advance?
Group tours require a $20.00 deposit to hold the tour date. Advance
tickets are not available for other tours.
Can I tour the historic structures on my own?
No. The only way to see the inside of the historic houses is on a guided
tour.
Can I tour the park and gardens only?
Yes. Sam Houston Park is a public park and you may walk around the
grounds at your leisure.
What can my children do at The Heritage Society?
The Heritage Society offers a variety of family activities
throughout the year. Please check our Calendar of Events for upcoming
programs. On a tour, children may visit Heritage Society museum gallery and can tour the Duncan Store, a hands-on
exhibit where children can play with
toys popular in the nineteenth-century or try their hand at churning
butter.
Where do I park and how much does it cost?
Visitors enjoy free parking in the lot located behind the white
brick Kellum-Noble House. The parking lot is located just off Allen
Parkway inbound.
Where can I eat?
There are no restaurant facilities available onsite at this time.
However, there are a number of restaurants and cafeterias in the
vicinity.
Is there a gift shop?
The Heritage Society has a small gift shop located in the museum.

The library and archives are available by appointment only. Please
