Annual Fund FAQs
How are the annual fund dollars used? Annual fund dollars are used to support the operations of The Heritage Society. Preservation and restoration of our nine historical structures are ongoing activities and our educational programs are expanding to meet increasing demands. Your gift is appreciated and does make a difference. What is the goal of the annual fund? The overall goal of the annual fund is to further excellence in our mission to preserve the history of Houston and to provide educational programs for the community. Our goal is to raise $20,000 from our members, our partners, our visitors, and our friends. Your support, no matter the size of the gift, is needed and appreciated. Last chance to participate! – IRA Charitable Rollover Special Provision for 2006-2007 IRA Charitable Rollover in Pension Protection Act of 2006 (H.R.4)
For
years 2006 and 2007, IRA owners over age 70½ will be able to
rollover up to $100,000 directly to public charities. With the IRA
rollover, there will be no amount included in taxable income, and no
income tax deduction. With an IRA rollover to charity, there will be
a simpler tax return and potential favorable tax benefits due to a
lower adjusted gross income. Please consult with your tax accountant
for exact details and requirements of this new provision and any
other planned gifts you might be considering. You can help make a difference!
We wish to thank the following individuals, foundations, and corporations for their support!*
