The Heritage Society would like to thank everyone who supported and attended the
2010 Houston Heritage Luncheon! “Picnic in the Park with Sam” was enjoyed by nearly 250 guests who gathered here in our very own Connally Plaza. Everyone enjoyed their gourmet picnic lunches among the blooming magnolia trees in the warm spring air. Luncheon Chair Minnette Boesel organized an entertaining afternoon that included a very special speech from Lt. Gov. Bill Hobby, the traditional Texas tunes of the Celtaire String Band, and even General Sam Houston himself! Our gratitude goes to the following generous underwriters without whom this year’s luncheon would not have been possible: William J. Hill, John P. McGovern Foundation, Minnette & Peter Boesel, Palmetto Partners, Ltd., John and Evelyn Boatwright, Bill and Diana Hobby, InfoVine, Jim and Cindy Thorp, and Alan and Carol Walker.  Thank you again for all of your dedication and support. Because of your commitment to our mission, The Heritage Society will be able to continue the preservation of Houston’s rich and beautiful history.
