For the 54th year, Candlelight Tour proved to be an event to remember. On December 10-11, 2016, visitors strolled the grounds of Sam Houston Park to see historical buildings illuminated by candlelight and adorned with period holiday decorations. Attractions and activities were plentiful and diverse. From reenactments of legendary past Houstonians; to performances in St John’s Church by Houston Boychoir, Fourth Ward Voices, Karaoke Violins and the Shimmer Flute Choir; to carolers either strolling the grounds or performing in the bandstand; to children confiding in Santa or making special keepsakes, the air was filled with the sights and sounds of treasured holiday traditions from long ago.
The Heritage Society is grateful for the generous support of the following underwriters and performers who helped make the 54th annual Candlelight Tour an event to remember. Thanks, too, to the many volunteers who brought the buildings to life and to the visitors who toured the historic buildings and museum, shopped the Art Market and Candlelight Café, and experienced an old fashioned holiday at The Heritage Society.
